Centurion Club member, Iban Frias Tamyo, Grade 4 at HH IB Elementary School, received a special award from Wayne Quinlan, HH High School soccer coach in recognition of his outstanding performance in academics and behavior for the week of April 26, at NOC’s Program Center in the Oaks.
Building Bridges between Neighborhoods in Hilton Head Island

On March 31, 2012, Hilton Head Christian Academy hosted a gathering for 20 members of NOC’s Centurion Club, all children living in the Oaks neighborhood. This special event, which emanated from a school chapel relating to “The Parable of The Great Feast,” was held on the school campus.

HH High School and NOC have partnered to conduct a series of soccer clinics in the Oaks Apartments neighborhood for children who live in Oaks and other nearby low income neighborhoods.

Representatives of United Way of the Lowcountry made a site visit to NOC’s Bluffton Program Center on March 19 to discuss NOC’s 2012-2013 investment program relating to education. NOC’s strategic priorities and goals for education, health, and workforce development are closely aligned with emerging goals and priorities of United Way, making this partnership highly relevant and timely.
Successful Vision Screening in Oaks Neighborhood


Residents from several neighborhoods, including Oaks Apartments, Hilton Head Gardens, Sandalwood Apartments, Wood Lake Apartments, Woodhaven, and Tabby Walk, have asked for vision screening as a component of NOC’s health screening program in low-income neighborhoods.
