Neighborhood Outreach Connection is dedicated to increasing voter registration among low-income American citizens to promote their participation in the political process.

  • NOC will partner with the League of Women Voters, NAACP, the Beaufort County Board of Elections and Registration, and the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) to work in neighborhoods to promote voter registration and educate people in the neighborhoods about the importance of political participation and engagement.
  • The partners will collaborate with faith based organizations for support in the neighborhoods.  They will also work with existing organizations and leaders in neighborhoods.
  • The League of Women Voters will mobilize volunteers and NOC will identify neighborhoods and location for launching this initiative.  NOC will also prepare a timetable for completing the task that will be implemented during the period of August 9 to September 22, 20008.
  • USHLI has already shipped material and information for the initiative.
  • In the fall this year, USHLI will partner with NOC to provide leadership training to individuals from the neighborhoods from all ethnic groups.  USHLI will finance the bulk of the costs associated with this program.  NOC will find individuals in the neighborhoods for this training program.
