NOC Celebrates Volunteers Day

NOC hosted a social event to recognize the
outstanding contributions of the volunteers without whom NOC could not successfully implement its outreach programs in Hilton Head Island and Greater Bluffton. More than 50 people, including children, participated in this event, which was held on April 19, 2010, at the Oaks Community Center.

More than 50 people, including children, participated in this event, which was held on April 19, 2010, at the Oaks Community Center.The gathering included volunteers, friends of NOC, residents of the neighborhoods, and several members of the Board. Remarks about the important contributions of the volunteers were made by the Narendra Sharma, Chair of NOC's Board of Directors and several Board members, including Dennis Adams, Scot Griswold, Paul Wexler, and Ellen Taylor. NOC gave excellence awards to six individuals for their outstanding work to support NOC activities through their volunteer work. Awards were given to: Frank Edgerton, Becky Eikenberry, Kay Lechner, Charlie McOuat, Yajaira Benet-Smith, and Tom De Vore.
