NOC recently built a playground at the Oaks Apartments, with the help of volunteers, partner organizations, and residents.The grand opening of the playground, on October 18, 2009, was attended by almost 100 people from the Oaks neighborhood, as well as from other communities on Hilton Head Island.  The new playground includes a large swing set and climbing dome and also five picnic tables for families to enjoy.  The playground was made possible by generous donations of money from NOC, the Lowcountry Community Foundation of Hilton Head Island, the Lions Club, Oaks Homeowners Association, and labor from Wright Home Improvements as well as from many residents of the Oaks Apartments. 

The playground has become a popular gathering place for children and adults alike.  

NOC plans to add additional equipment to the playground thanks to a grant from the Bargain Box.
