NOC is pleased to announce that it has received three grants to advance its outreach programs on Hilton Head Island and in Greater Bluffton.
NOC received a grant of $4000 from the Bargain Box on December 1, 2009. The grant will enable NOC to complete the playground which has been established at the Oaks Apartments in Hilton Head. NOC will purchase playground equipment suitable for younger children in response to requests from Oaks parents. This project will be completed by February 2010.
NOC also received a grant of $2750 from the Hargray Caring Coins Foundation to purchase new computers for the NOC Program Center at the Oaks Apartments. The new computers will be used for the workforce development project that is jointly sponsored by NOC and the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL). This program will begin in February 2010.
Finally, NOC received a grant of $7,500 from the Heritage Classic Foundation in early December, 2009, to support NOC’s education outreach programs in Hilton Head Island and Greater Bluffton. This grant will allow NOC to continue building education programs supported by previous grants from the Heritage Classic Foundation.
