NOC Holds Community Improvement Workshop
NOC implemented its first Community Improvement Workshop
on March 17, at Oaks Apartments complex. More than 40 persons participated in this successful workshop led by Mario Martinez, a prominent leader in the Hispanic community.
The aim of the Community Improvement Workshop was to:
(a) Educate individuals and families in the neighborhood about their civic responsibilities to build a stronger community and to participate in community activities;
(b) Encourage individuals to develop new work skills and knowledge, and to learn English so that they can be employed and be productive; and
(c) Inform the Hispanic community of the status of immigration reform and encourage participation in the upcoming census.
